About Me
I’m Ander Gimenez, and I’m a game design student born, raised, and living in Mexico City. My mission is to make games that have mechanics that better connect to the story. I know it sounds generic, but whenever I come up with a game mechanic, I first think of a story or world where the mechanic would work.
Q&A:
What skills do you have?
I know a number of principles of game design, and I’ve made at least three games. I also know how to 3D model with Maya and Blender at an intermediate level. I know how to use Photoshop at an intermediate level. I speak Spanish and English fluidly. I know the basics of programming in Java and C#, Unity 3D, music theory and film theory. I’m also good at public speaking.
What kind of games do you want to make?
Most of my ideas right now would be RPGs, Shoot ‘em Ups/Bullet Hells, and Horror games. However, I do like all game genres, and I could work with just about any.
What are your current projects?
I’m finishing up my personal website, where I plan to put both my portfolio and an offer to make 3D models on a commission basis.
What plans do you have for the future?
I hope to either have my own game studio, work for one, or work as a freelance 3D artist or game designer.
